Un año más, nuestro grupo participará en la Noche Europea de los Investigadores de Castilla y León que tendrá lugar este viernes 29 de septiembre, concretamente en las actividades «Ciencia en Familia» que se llevarán a cabo en el Palacio Santa Cruz (Plaza del Colegio de Santa Cruz) de 17:00 a 19:30h con el taller titulado “¿Cómo pueden los gusanos de seda curarnos los ojos?”. Con esta actividad queremos mostrar, al público en general, cómo a partir de los capullos de seda que producen los gusanos se obtienen materiales para la fabricación de membranas que posteriormente se colocan a modo de apósitos sobre heridas producidas en la córnea con el fin de mejorar el proceso de cicatrización y restaurar la visión normal tras el daño (Proyecto: SILK-EYE. Once again, our group will participate in the European Night of Researchers of Castilla y León that will take place this Friday 29th September, specifically in the activities «Science in Family» that will take place in the Palacio Santa Cruz (Plaza del Colegio de Santa Cruz) from 17:00 to 19:30h with the workshop entitled «How can silkworms heal our eyes?«. With this activity we want to show how, from the silk cocoons produced by the worms, materials are obtained for the manufacture of membranes that are then placed as dressings on wounds produced in the cornea in order to improve the healing process and restore normal vision after an injury (Project: SILK-EYE.
